The control layer is ours.

TOBOR designs the boards, communication modules and firmware inside its chargers, so changes, fault diagnosis and custom features don't wait on a third-party roadmap.

  • HomePlug GreenPHY PLC and SLAC for CCS2 vehicle communication; ISO 15118 and Plug & Charge in development
  • Controller families for CCS2, LEV DC, Type 2, AC sockets and fleet applications
  • STM32 / ESP32 firmware with CAN / CAN FD, RS-485, Modbus, SPI and Ethernet
  • Surge and over-voltage protection; Wi-Fi / LAN with cellular options

Protocol support varies by configuration. Plug & Charge and V2G depend on vehicle, backend and grid integration.

BESS-buffered charging

Solar in. Grid trickle.
Battery buffers the burst.

Store solar energy and refill from the grid between sessions. The battery supplies the burst of power when a vehicle plugs in.

Conceptual energy flow. Power conversion and protection are configured for each site. Charging power and duration depend on battery state of charge, available energy and the vehicle.

Why buffer

The transformer is the bottleneck.

A 240 kW fast charger on a 60 kW grid connection would normally need an expensive upgrade. A buffered BESS solves it for less.

Without BESS

Grid-only DC charging

Charger output is capped by the weakest link in the chain — usually the transformer or the utility connection.

  • Charger output60 kW (grid-limited)
  • Charge time, 60 kWh EV~60 min

With TOBOR BESS

Battery-buffered charging

Charger pulls from the battery, not the grid. Battery refills slowly from solar and trickle grid between sessions.

  • Charger output240 kW (full-rated)
  • Charge time, 60 kWh EV~15 min

Deployments

Where battery-buffered charging fits.

Highway · 2–5 MW

Expressway charging hubs

Multi-bay 240 kW DCFC plazas on highway pull-offs. A PTX-2000 or CTX-5000 container absorbs the burst load of 6–8 simultaneous vehicles without provoking the grid.

Fleet · 500 kW – 2 MW

Bus & truck depots

Overnight depot charging for fleet operators. Time-of-use arbitrage pays for the system in 3–4 years.

Retail · 125 kW

Mall & retail forecourts

A PTX-125 system delivers two simultaneous 60 kW fast-charge ports without re-trenching MV cable.

EV charging in India: questions about TOBOR

What does TOBOR offer for EV charging in India?
TOBOR offers AC charging from 3.3 to 22 kW, CCS2 DC charging from 30 to 240 kW, Type 6 and Type 7 light-EV charging, charging station management software and the Tobor driver app. TOBOR designs charger controllers and software in Gurugram and integrates battery storage for sites with constrained grid power. The 120 kW and 240 kW CCS2 units are configured to order.
How can I find a TOBOR EV charging station near me?
Use the Tobor app on Android or iPhone to find listed chargers and check availability. Confirm the vehicle connector, access permission, opening hours and price before travelling. A charger at a housing society or fleet depot may have restricted access; a product listing on this website is not a live station listing.
Which TOBOR charger should I choose for my site?
Start with the vehicles, parking duration and available electrical capacity. AC charging suits longer stops at homes, workplaces and hotels. CCS2 DC suits compatible cars and fleets needing shorter stops. Type 6 and Type 7 chargers serve compatible light electric vehicles. Final selection depends on the vehicle inlet, battery voltage, accepted power and site design.
Does a 240 kW charger always deliver 240 kW to a vehicle?
No. Delivered power is limited by the vehicle's charging curve, battery state and temperature, the charger's voltage and current envelope, site power and any sharing between connectors. Ask for the selected configuration's output and power-sharing details.
Can TOBOR combine industrial BESS with EV charging?
Yes. TOBOR offers industrial battery energy storage above 250 kW, with 500 kW to 10 MW configurations. Storage can supply short charging peaks where the grid connection is constrained. Battery power, usable energy and recharge time must be sized to the site's charging schedule; storage does not remove the need for adequate energy supply.
